Understanding Blackstone’s Gate Code System

Recently, the Association has received several questions about how the community’s gate codes work. We’d like to provide some clarification so that all residents feel confident using the system and know how to manage their personal access.

Individual Gate Codes for Each Home

Every home behind the gates has its own unique gate code. This code was either chosen by the current homeowner or inherited from a prior homeowner. The Association does not set or assign these codes. Homeowners may request a code change at any time by contacting the Clubhouse via phone or email.

Delivery and Service Vehicles

Delivery companies, such as USPS and other major carriers, have their own access systems and processes to enter the community. These arrangements are separate from homeowner codes and do not require resident involvement.

Directory Access System

Each gate is also equipped with a directory system for guest access. Here’s how it works: Every homeowner is assigned a three-digit directory code by last name(this code varies by gate and is available upon request at the Clubhouse). Residents can provide this code to guests. When a guest enters the code, the gate system will call the homeowner’s phone number on file. The resident can then communicate with the guest through the speaker system and press 9 on their telephone to open the gate remotely.

Why Blackstone Does Not Use a Universal Code

In some communities, especially those still under construction, developers may use a universal gate code to simplify access for contractors and vendors. These universal codes are often changed regularly to maintain privacy behind the gates. At Blackstone, the major development phases have been completed for many years. As such, the universal community code was eliminated long ago. Today, only personal homeowner codes, gate remotes, and the directory system are used for entry.

Keeping Your Code Secure

If you believe your personal code has been compromised or shared too widely, please contact the Clubhouse. Our staff can quickly update your code to ensure continued security for your household. We hope this overview helps clear up any confusion. Should you have further questions, feel free to reach out to the Clubhouse team for assistance.
