Weed Abatement Survey
The Association has been working diligently over the past several years to improve the annual weed abatement and fire break maintenance efforts. Each year, the Board and Management collaborate with vendor partners to make enhancements aimed at increasing community safety and supporting more favorable insurance outcomes for Blackstone homeowners.
In addition to reducing fire risk, our grazing program also supports the health of the local ecosystem, particularly in our wetlands and protected preserve areas. Several years ago, the Association completed an application process to obtain approval for extended weed abatement beyond the standard 30-foot requirement. As a result, we now have permission to clear 50 to 100 feet from homeowner fence lines into the adjacent open space.
Each year, we receive varying feedback from residents, some prefer the maximum 100-foot clearance for added safety, while others favor a more minimal approach. As the Board begins planning the 2026 budget, we are seeking input from the community to help guide this important decision.
We kindly ask that you complete the brief survey below to let us know whether you prefer 50 feet or 100 feet of weed abatement from your fence line. Your feedback is invaluable and greatly appreciated.
