October Pool Closure
With another beautiful summer coming to an end, so begins the project of bringing the Blackstone Community a beautiful new pool area!
Starting Monday, October 2nd, the entire pool area will be closed for demolition. While we wish we could delay the start of this work to later in the year, we can’t. Due to the impending winter weather, the project must start in October. We anticipate the project of building anew pool deck will take 8 to 10 weeks. The projected re-opening of the pool area for access to the hot tub spa is in December.
It was previously communicated that only a portion of the pool area deck would be replaced this year and the rest would be done at a future time. After much consideration, the Board of Directors has decided to replace the entire pool deck this year in order to avoid future closure disruptions for the community.
Demolition should take approximately two weeks or less. The demolition work will only occur Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 4:30pm. This period of demolition will be the most disruptive portion of this work with the use of jackhammers. We understand the noise will be a disruption to the quiet enjoyment of the Clubhouse and Community, however, this is a necessary and unavoidable part of the project. The Association's contractor has assured us that they will work to complete this portion of the project as quickly as possible.
Please note that while we have an anticipated project schedule, should unforeseen issues arise, the planned schedule may need to be adjusted accordingly.
We look forward to the re-opening of the pool area as soon as possible so that residents may enjoy the hot tub spa through the winter along with the new pool furniture that was bought this year!
